Tiffany Sax, Ailish Hawkins, Danielle Brotcke, Sophia Grant, Giselle Gonzalez, Maya Natarajan and Elyse Grant led Newbury Park to a third consecutive CIF Southern Section girls cross country team title at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif. Sax covered the 2.93-mile layout in 17:55.4 and Hawkins clocked 17:55.5 to finish fifth and sixth, respectively, for the Panthers who prevailed by a 70-125 margin against Ventura. Sophia Grant took 14th in 18:36.2, Gonzalez finished 25th in 19:10.0 and Natarajan earned 29th in 19:13.8, with Brotcke placing 39th in 19:33.5 and Elyse Grant securing 43rd in 19:38.2 for the Panthers, who won for the second time in Division 2 after capturing the Division 1 championship last season.
