Hailey Golmon, a recent Newbury Park High graduate and freshman at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, looks ahead to the challenge of competing unattached in her first career 6-kilometer race Nov. 14 at the XC Town USA Meet of Champions, presented by The Garrett Companies, at the LaVern Gibson course in Terre Haute, Ind. Golmon has continued to train with her former Newbury Park teammates since Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and the Big West Conference decided not to compete this fall in California.
