Sean Brosnan, coach of Newbury Park XC Club in California, reflects on winning a boys national championship with a 128-132 victory over Temecula XC at Nike Cross Nationals at Glendoveer Golf Course in Portland. It marked the first time in the meet's 16-year history that two groups from the same state swept the top two spots in the boys final. Newbury Park XC also became the third team from California, joining Arcadia in 2010 and 2012 in addition to Temecula in 2015, to capture a national championship.
