Leo Young and Lex Young, both Stanford-bound seniors at Newbury Park High in California, led the Panthers to a sweep of the top six spots and a perfect score of 15 points in the Marmonte League boys varsity cross country championship race at Agoura High. Leo Young eclipsed the all-time record at Agoura by covering the 3-mile layout in 14:50.87, taking down the 2006 mark of 14:51.66 established by Michael Cybulski of Royal High. Lex Young was third in 14:51.08, with he and fellow senior Aaron Sahlman both dipping under the previous record as well, giving the Panthers the top three competitors in course history, as they secured a sixth consecutive league championship.
