Colin Sahlman of No. 1 Newbury Park CA, who ran the third-fastest time ever at Woodward Park last weekend at the 42nd ASICS Clovis Invitational, announced his college decision this week to attend Northern Arizona University.

Sahlman, his junior brother Aaron, and junior brothers Leo and Lex Young (also twins) are perhaps the greatest quartet of high school runners to ever compete together as teammates from the same school.

Newbury Park has smashed all-time team records at both the Woodbridge Cross Country Classic and Clovis Invitationals this fall. The group might go down as the best boys cross country team in prep history.

Colin Sahlman was the No. 3 man on Newbury Park's 2019 Nike Cross Nationals championship team, which was led by Nico Young, now a sophomore at NAU.

"Looking forward to being teammates with Nico for the 3rd time," Sahlman wrote in his post.

Sahlman won the Arcadia Invitational 3,200 meters last spring in 8:43.42 and also owns a mile PR of 4:04.86.

Last weekend, he led Newbury Park's 1-2-3-4 sweep with a winning time of 14:29.4. Only German Fernandez and Nico Young have run faster on California's state meet course.
